Mission: To minimize the impact of osteoporosis on Michigan residents, especially those with or at-risk for this condition, by providing direction and leadership through advocacy, education, and resources.

Vision: The Michigan Coalition for Bone Health is the recognized change agent that reduces the impact of osteoporosis in Michigan through the continuing development and support of effective education, prevention, and treatment strategies.

Vision priorities 2005-2010:

  1. We develop an effective coalition and build partnerships.

  2. We develop and implement a social marketing/public awareness plan.

  3. We advocate effective policies to address osteoporosis.

  4. We have diverse, broad-based stable funding.

  5. We maintain a web-based mechanism to stay trend on trends, research, and consumer information in osteoporosis.

  6. We decrease morbidity of osteoporosis.

  7. We promote bone health by educating providers.

  8. We promote healthy and safe environments to optimize bone health.
